Two Battersea juniors had highly successful tournaments at the recent British Championships at Llandudno (pictured above).

Koby Kalavannan, who played in the London League first team last season, won the Under-16 tournament by a mighty 1.5 points, finishing on 6.5/7. He also played well in the British Championship itself, finishing on 4.5/9 including draws with IMs Palliser and Pritchett.

Dennis Dupuis, the club’s youngest player, also performed with great credit, finishing 3= in the Under-8 with 5/6 and 11= in the Under-9 with 4/7.

The only adult club member to make the long journey up to North Wales, Tim Allen, turned in a solid performance in the Yates U-120 weekend tournament with 2.5/5.
