Battersea Chess Club has announced a new programme for the club’s strongest players. We now offer half-price membership for players with full ratings over 2000 (FIDE or ECF, whichever is higher) — we recognise the value that high rated players add to our club as we all continue to learn from one another. Apologies, but we don’t accept online ratings for this — and if your ECF rating ends in a P for “partial”, you won’t qualify yet.
We also offer free membership to grandmasters (GM/WGM) and international masters (IM/WIM).
We’re excited to welcome strong players who add to our vibrant chess community. We hope you will consider playing for our teams and we look forward to seeing you at club nights every Tuesday.
The reason for our membership offer is that we know all of our players want stronger players to learn from and play against. Our club has a friendly atmosphere and we all help each other to keep improving.
