Battersea junior Denis Dupuis is into the prestigious UK Schools Chess Challenge Terafinal.
The ice hockey-playing hot-shot, whose dad Rejean hails from Canada, scored 5/6 to scoop the Ultimo title at yesterday’s Southern Gigafinal in Sandown Racecourse.
Denis was competing in the Under 10 Boys A section and – as the highest-scoring boy – qualifies automatically for September’s Terafinal.

As proud grandparents we’re so glad that Denis has found Battersea Chess Club which he admitted to us was ‘like home’ when we were visiting last year.
