Category: Grand Prix
At Battersea Chess Club we run a series of ECF-graded internal club tournaments. Since the start of 2019 we have bundled two of them together into a new Grand Prix format to allow new members to join at any point in the year.
The Club Championship
The Club Championship was first held in 1885 when it was won by J F Sugden and – like the club – has operated continuously since. Here is the list of champions.
The Barrow
The Barrow Trophy is our secondary prize for all the mere mortals at the club – that is the players who aren’t quite in the top bracket but aspire to be. It is dedicated to a former player.
If you would like to enter, please contact the club at updates@batterseachessclub.org.uk
